Katya Klinova

Background & biography

Katya Klinova is the Head of AI for Social and Humanitarian Action at the UN Secretary-General's Innovation Lab where she works on building an enabling infrastructure for accelerating beneficial AI capabilities the market is failing to deliver.

Before that, Katya served as Acting Director of Research and Programs and as the Head of Labor and Economy portfolio of programs at the Partnership on AI (PAI). She founded and led a number of PAI's tentpole programs, including the AI and Shared Prosperity Initiative and Responsible Sourcing Across the Data Supply Line program.

Prior to PAI, Katya had a long career at Google working on growth strategies for early AI-enabled consumer features, and conducted graduate research on the impact of AI advancement on the economic growth prospects of low- and middle-income countries.

Her work and commentary have been published by ACM/AAAI, Brookings, MIT Technology Review, the OECD, Oxford University Press, WIRED, Business Insider, Al Jazeera, and others.
